Description:

The museum chronicles Sitka’s past, featuring displays about the Tlingits, who have inhabited the area for more than 10,000 years, as well as the region's Russian occupation, and the city's history since American control began in 1867. Other exhibits depict fox farming in southeast Alaska and Sitka’s maritime heritage.

Open May - Sep: daily 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Oct - Apr: Tue. - Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Closed Sun. - Mon.
